Ex-Sham Shui Po Service Reservoir Guided Tour
On 14th May 2024, the Social subcommittee organised a guided tour of the Ex-Sham Shui Po Service Reservoir, a Grade 1 historic site since June 2021.
Alumnae and their families ascended hundreds of steps to explore this early 19th-century waterworks relic atop Mission Hill. Knowledgeable guides highlighted its historical significance, while participants marveled at its architectural beauty and understood its strategic and engineering functions. Featuring a 150-foot diameter and 22-foot height, the service reservoir once held 2.18 million gallons of water. This enjoyable and educational outing offered insights into Hong Kong's colonial past and concluded with delightful souvenirs for each participant.
