Dear old girls,

I would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to attend two concerts that will mark the end of our exciting school year. The School Orchestra Festival of Four Regions Across the Straits will be held on 14th and 15th July, 2017, at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Auditorium.

This is the third year for the School Orchestra Festival Across the Straits. After the first two festivals in Macau and Guangzhou respectively, we are hosting this event, putting on a programme that not only includes performances by instrumental ensembles, but also a joint performance with choristers from Diocesan Boys’ School, Wah Yan College Kowloon, and Sacred Heart Canossian College English Section (Macau). Details are as follows:

14th July 2017        7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Opening Ceremony of the Third School Orchestra Festival of Four Regions Across the Straits and Individual Performances by Participating Schools

15th July 2017        7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Joint Orchestra & Choir Concert

Participating Schools:
Macau:            Pui Ching Middle School Macau; Sacred Heart Canossian College English Section;
Guangzhou:    Guangdong Experimental High School;
Taiwan:           National Tainan Girls’ Senior High School; Taipei Municipal Jinhua Junior
                          High School; New Taipei Municipal Fuhe Junior High School

It is especially heartening to us as members of the DGS family to see the relationships that are forged between our girls and students across the straits, stemming from their shared love for music. This concert promises to be a fine showcase for these talented musicians and should prove to be highly entertaining. It would indeed be an honour if you are able to attend the concerts on these two evenings not only to support our girls, but to celebrate the musical partnership and comradeship between our schools. Tickets are priced at $200 and $140 (concessions at $100 and $70) and are now available at all URBTIX outlets across Hong Kong and online at www.urbtix.hk.

I look forward to seeing you at the concerts!

Yours truly,
Mrs. Stella Lau JP
Headmistress Diocesan Girls’ School
