Report on Grooming Workshop on August 3, 2002

Miss Iris Lim and members of the DOGA General Committee after the workshop

The Grooming Workshop held on Saturday, 3rd August was very successful.  We had an enrolment of 35 which was more than our expected number of 30.  Our instructor, Miss Iris Lim, spoke to us about different areas of grooming, e.g. good manners, how to look good and feel good, etc.   She asked one participant to help demonstrate basic steps of skincare by doing a facial for her and another participant to do a make-up demonstration.

Participants were very enthusiastic and asked questions throughout the workshop.  The group also enjoyed afternoon tea provided by The Royal Garden Hotel.  A vast array of finger sandwiches, cakes and cookies was served together with coffee and tea.  The workshop ended at 6 p.m. and everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon.   We made a small profit of $ 1,530.00 from this event.

The Social Committee would like to give special thanks to Anna Hui for inviting Miss Iris Lim to the workshop.   Our special thanks also goes to Mrs. Stella Lau for letting us use the DGS SAC and for providing us with the assistance of the school’s janitor which helped contribute to the success of the workshop.
