Report on Annual Dinner on October 17, 2002

The DOGA 2002 Annual Dinner was held on October 17, 2002 at the Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong.  It was well participated, with over 300 old girls enrolled for the dinner.  Similar to last year, every attendee was given a color ribbon at the entrance of the ballroom so as to facilitate the identity of the house that she belonged to at DGS.  Also available at the entrance was the sale of various souvenir items including travel tumblers, pen sets and umbrellas.  

Before dinner was served, Dr. Vivian Wong (President of DOGA Limited) gave an opening speech and then Mrs. Christina Chiang (DGS Music Teacher and Choir Conductress) led everyone sing the DGS school hymn, which was beautifully sung by all attendees.

Immediately after the singing of the DGS school hymn, a six-course Chinese meal was served.  The food was delicious and each table was beautifully decorated with yellow (for Gibbins) roses.  As usual, many table prizes and souvenir items were placed on each table for the attendees to take away.

Whilst everyone was busy catching up and enjoying the meal, the games started.  Within a short time, over 50 girls rushed to the stage to play the games that would help their own house win the Millennium Cup.  The winner of the Millennium Cup this year was Sawyer.

Thanks to all the classreps for all their support and hard work in keeping their class members in touch with DOGA!!

Many thanks to members of the Social and Annual Dinner Committees for making the event a successful one and for soliciting gifts for lucky draw prizes and table prizes; members of the Membership Committee, class representatives and volunteers for helping with registration; members of the General Committee; and all other members and volunteers for assisting with various tasks before and throughout the evening.  Finally, special thanks to everyone who attended the Annual Dinner.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
